Like many knitting enthusiasts and wool addicts, I have thirty-twelve projects underway.
I don't show everything on Instagram or Facebook; some things are spontaneous, some are done backwards, and some things fail—you know how it is.
Yesterday I finished knitting a small cashmere shawl using two balls of Cashmere Premium, following pattern 75. I didn't even take a photo as it was finished so quickly. Now I'm looking forward to a new SURPRISE shawl.
Two things I'm showing you now also came about on a whim. One is a round yoke sweater made of Cloud Tweed (which I don't really like) alternating with VENUS, and now I like it ;) It's knitted tighter (NST 5.0) than the recommended gauge (6-7) because I don't like the roughened texture of Cloud Tweed so much; it's a matter of taste, after all. The body piece is almost finished, went in a flash, and fits perfectly, who would have thought. Round yokes were never my thing, but they're even easier than reversed yokes, and you knit "to yourself."
The second sweater currently consists of only one back piece. HONOR (my favorite yarn) is paired with Symphoneyarns Terra (hand-dyed sock yarn). I've only knitted HONOR on its own once, but I've knitted it several times together. It's simply THE winter yarn, and paired with sock yarn, it's a dream.
There's always some "space" in between for projects that pop into your head or surprise scarves - they're a must ;)
That's it for now after a long time. Today we have glorious weather with snow on the ground – it's calling for a walk. We have the (mini) city park right outside our door, and the beach anyway.
See you soon, Melanie
