The days are counting...

Are you ready for vacation too?

I've been counting the days for weeks. We live on the beautiful Baltic Sea, right on the Schlei, but the North Sea, St. Peter-Ording, is our place to be. Several times a year we head over to the west coast, sometimes for one or two overnight stays, sometimes just for a day trip.

Once a year we stay longer, then we have a small vacation apartment, this time a tiny cottage in the neighboring town, about 6 km from SPO. Our car, which takes us and our bikes to SPO, stays parked, and we only travel by bike. Peace and quiet, getting some fresh air, sorting out our thoughts, gathering new ideas—that's my/our vacation, completely free of obligation and pressure.

Of course, I also bring my knitting for evenings or rainy weather, and this time again a little bag with a new idea.

We'll be leaving on July 15th and returning on July 28th. The workshop is also closed during that time, so the last two weeks before the holiday season are always a logistical challenge. Enough prefabrication is needed for the shop, as it's peak season and the shop needs plenty of inventory. Online orders will also be processed right up until the last day to ensure we stay on schedule. The same thing awaits us after the holiday season.

We're all looking forward to a few days off with our loved ones, some on our balconies, others on an island - we'll all come back strengthened, with a view of autumn and lots of new ideas.

In any case, I will try to put my idea into practice and return from vacation with a finished project.

There are still 10 days until I pack my bags...tomorrow it will only be 9.
